Trial by Water
image
Martyrdom by water is exemplified by the drowning of Bishop Hermogenes of Tobolsk and other believers with him, who were thrown bound with a stone around their necks, from the steamship Petrograd into the Tura river. It happened on June 16 (29), 1918, just a few days after the murder of the Royal Family.
